Lord George Cavendish (d. 1794) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Lord George Cavendish (died 1794)
Lord George Augustus Cavendish (died 2 May 1794) was a British politician. ==Life== George Augustus Cavendish was born in London, the second son of William Cavendish, 3rd Duke of Devonshire. He was educated in Chesterfield and at St John's College, Cambridge. In 1753, he inherited Holker Hall from his cousin Sir William Lowther, 3rd Baronet. He replanted the park there, and added a number of unusual trees. He entered Parliament in 1751 for Weymouth and Melcombe Regis, and in 1754, took up the family seat of Derbyshire, which he occupied, with one interruption, until his death forty years later. The painting illustrated is credited to Mather Brown but a very similar portrait has the attribution by Derby Museum and Art Gallery: "after Joseph Wright of Derby".〔(Lord G. A.
